An emergency WAC went into effect on 9/10/15. The WAC is now more specific on how to proceed with an applicant with positive tuberculosis (TB) due to latent TB.
The revised language in the WAC also allows for a medical exemption for individuals that would have a severe medical consequence due to the influenza vaccination.
Foster parents, agency staff, or volunteers that qualify for the medical exemption for influenza will need to have their medical doctor complete the DSHS 10-565 Medical Exemption for Influenza Vaccination form and return the letter to their licensor.
The public comment period for the proposed rule changes is open now through October 27, 2015 at 5:00 pm. The emergency WAC will become permanent following the public hearing.
